Our Story

We’re Shehan and Uthpala a husband and wife team from Sri Lanka, proud parents of two little ones, and the heart behind The Daily Loaf Bakery here in Glen Eden.

After many years working in some of New Zealand’s top artisan bakeries, we decided to follow our dream and open our own place a local bakery where everything is made fresh, by hand, and with love.

Shehan is an experienced artisan baker with a passion for traditional sourdoughs, pastries, and specialty breads, while Uthpala brings her warmth and customer care to ensure everyone who visits feels at home.

At The Daily Loaf, our goal is simple to share the kind of food we love to bake and eat as a family, made with care, using quality ingredients, and served with a smile. Because for us, baking isn’t just a business it’s our way of bringing a little happiness to our community every day.
